Update: v1.2.0 - Godot 4 and general improvements and features
Hi!
I have finally finished porting this game to Godot 4. There was a lot to fix and set up. Godot 4 has a much more flexible terrain system which I can now take advantage of. But this also meant that I needed to set up tilesets again and recreate many parts of the maps… Further, encryption changed in Godot 4 which impacted saved game data. But with some help, I managed to make old saves work with the new version. So you will be able to continue your journey and see your hard earned achievements when you play this version.
With Godot 4, I have now an even better time in improving this game. Of course, I couldn’t resist to add features. From a player’s perspective, there are no major changes in this version. However, there are several small changes to improve the overall feeling of the game:
New/updated images for:
- sword
- several NPCs
- achievements
- cliffs
New features:
- There’s a new event in Denesta when you go to the flowers.
- You can now change the flower of Jasmine.
- Arcandor raises his hand when he stops Mira.
- Reld’s hat is now usable.
- Reld turns around when he equips his hat.
- eerier forests (especially the labyrinth)
- useless description for empty item slots
- name for fire mage
- modified cast speed so that Mira can cast magic even faster if she trains
- some changes on many maps
- some changes in the labyrinth
Other changes:
- I added a button in the settings so that you can run by default and walk while holding shift.
- The notifier enters and leaves the screen now instead of changing opacity.
- I removed partial mouse control. The game is fully playable with the keyboard. There was never a need to use the mouse and it didn’t even work everywhere.
- I removed the delete achievements button. Why would you delete your achievements, anyway?
I’m already working on further improvements and features.
